Tempestuous Wondrous Strange Trilogy Lesley Livingston Books

Tempestuous Wondrous Strange Trilogy Lesley Livingston Books
4.5 starsTempestuous is an exciting, action packed ending to Lesley's Wondrous Strange series. With all the plot twists, the "who done it" mystery finally revealed, and Kelley and Sonny finally realizing their powers full potentials, I couldn't have asked for a better ending. The faerie courts are at war, allies are broken, new ones made, new characters are introduced, other character's end their journeys and some make choices that completely surprised me. Tempestuous is non stop action and one that reveals little bits to what's been going on in the series twisted plots leading right up to the war.
I really liked the turn of events that takes place amongst the faerie courts. I didn't see that one coming, as Lesley does a fantastic job at keeping me guessing through the whole series on who's behind the attacks and the chaos. Where Kelley and Sonny annoyed me just a little bit with choices they both make, though I understand why they made their decisions, I liked that Fennrys and Maddox became their voice of reason. I also liked seeing the reasoning behind choices some of the characters make like Puck. It helped me understand their characters more and it made me respect them a bit more.
Tempestuous has romance, heart ache, betrayal and plenty of action. Like Wondrous Strange and Darklight, Tempestuous is a quick, engaging read and one I recommend picking up when it's released on December 22nd, 2010.

Tempestuous Wondrous Strange Trilogy Lesley Livingston Books Reviews
Kelley, Sonny and The Fennrys Wolf are back for one more adventure to complete a stellar series, and Tempestuous doesn't disappoint. The character have all grown from the first novel and are ready to seek the ultimate truths and consequences of their actions, regardless of what that mean. The plot is fast paced, the romance is more develop and Tempestuous is wonderful because you can really feel that all the choices and betrayals and surprises were leading towards this one moment. And it doesn't disappoint.
Kelly has always been a smart, active lead. There aren't many times in this series where I've found myself yelling at her and when I did, she was yelling at herself. In this last installment, she has grown into her powers and is ready to find out all the secrets behind her mother and father. I was particularly happy with how her relationship with her mother evolved as I always thought they were interesting together. I was glad to see that she kept the lessons she learned in the first novel and continued to grow as a person. Sonny was a joy as always and I liked the chapters following him. I was kind of mad how they kept being angry with each other after they'd worked so hard to be together but I understood their motivations and they made sense so it was easier to accept.
What I really loved about this novel is that nothing in the series was wasted. The entire plot of the first novel was past of the way this novel ended. No detail was forgotten and everything mattered. The questions left lingering in the first two, filled out the third one and I was satisfied by the ending. After a lot of batting around in the first two, this last novel was a no-holds-bar ride. Ms. Livingston had no problem killing those who needed it and I appreciated the willingness for her to make permanent decisions. The ending was explosive. If the first few pages went by quick, the last fifty flew-- on purple wings, no less.
Tempestuous took all the things I loved about the first two novels and crafted the last to make a satisfying ending that will keep you thinking about Kelley and Sonny long after it's finished. This series isphenomenal and if you haven't gotten around to checking it out, I highly suggest you do. The fairy lore is fantastic and the mixture of Shakespeare's plays and Irish folklore is an explosive and attractive combination.
Livingston writing is magical and she draws you in with a wonderful plot. I don't want to give anything away but you know how in some book series it's one problem after another. The series is just an adventure of tales with limited connection with the other book in the series. Well this series is not like that at all. The characters do of course have little adventures throughout the series, but if you read the entire series you can tell how things that happen in the first book connect to the second and third book. It really a well though; I noticed how somethings that were set up in the previous books (a not little things either) came in to play in the over all grand plot.
Tempestuous is the last book in the trilogy. Kelley is trying to figure out a way to save Sonny, the boy she loves and stop the murderous plot of some rogue faeries. She is also dealing with her new faerie family and her family at the theater, that are all to human. Sonny is heartbroken and on a journey of self-discovery that may very well lead him to his happy ending, that is if he can survive. The Fennrys Wolf has a bigger role this time, he is galavanting all over the place and it looks like he has a special place in his heart for a certain faerie princess. As for the rest of the characters, they are along for the ride. Just the usually faerie stuff, you know, murder, staging coos, and causing devastating mayhem.
I love this series, it's full of lush romance, adventure, danger and loveliness. It is a faerie tale after all. Also here is a little tidbit for those who don't know, Lesley has another series called Starling and one of the characters in the Wondrous Strange series is a main character in Starling. I would however suggest that you finish this series first.
